Abstract

PT. X is a company engaged in recycling discarded plastic into household
goods. The company currently lacks Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standards for each of its processes and production activities. Therefore, this study aims to develop recommendations for OHS for workers on the production floor to help the company minimize the number of work accidents. To achieve this goal, the Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Risk Control (HIRARC) approach is used as the basis for research on the production floor. The study found 28 potential hazards from 8 processes that could lead to work accidents. To anticipate these potential hazards, this study provides recommendations for improvement in the form of design techniques, administrative controls, and the provision of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The proposed improvements can theoretically reduce potential hazards significantly, from 12 previously categorized as low risk, 11 as medium risk, and 5 as high risk, to 21 as very low risk and 7 as low risk.
