Abstrak

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk melihat persepsi mahasiswa Manajemen Perhotelan Universitas Kristen Petra terhadap faktor-faktor yang mendorong minat berkarir di industri hospitality. Hasil penelitian ini didapat dari survei yang dilakukan kepada 176 mahasiswa dengan menggunakan teknik convenience sampling. Statistik deskriptif digunakan untuk melihat karakteristik variabel. Selain itu, independent sample t-test juga dilakukan untuk melihat apakah ada perbedaan pada minat karir dari mahasiswa dilihat dari jenis kelamin serta tahun angkatan. Ditemukan bahwa sikap merupakan variabel yang paling berpengaruh terhadap terbentuknya minat berkarir mahasiswa dan tidak ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara minat berkarir mahasiswa pria dan wanita maupun antara mahasiswa tahun angkatan 2014 dan 2015.

Abstract

This study was conducted to examine the of perception of Hotel Management Program students at Petra Christian University towards the factors influencing career intention in the hospitality industry. The result of this study was derived from a survey of 176 students using convenience sampling technique. Descriptive statistics are used to view the variables characteristic. Moreover, independent sample t-test were also conducted to see if students’ career intention is significantly different in regard of gender and grade. This study found that attitude is the most influential variable in determining the career intention of students. In addition, there was no significant difference to the career intention between male and female students or between class of 2014 and 2015 students.
